Meet the Gantt Family
The Gantt family home dedication went extremely well thanks to lots of good people like Bank of America's Art Moreno, and Merill Lynch representative Kristine Marcum who helped make this project possible. Smoked burgers were provided by Robert and Kim Weaver. Board member Ben Vincent sang a moving rendition of Amazing Grace. Geronimo Garcia executive director of Habitat El Paso talked with media about the rehab program. Numerous volunteers helped to rebuild this home including military soldiers from Fort Bliss, Texas Tech Medical Students and out of town students through the Collegiate Challenge Volunteer Program. Generous support was also provided by Economy Cash & Carry, El Paso Produce Co. and Supreme Bakery.
Mr. Clayburn Gantt is a veteran and works with the VA. He has a family of 4 and his daughter is excited that now she will be able to have a dog. He has already contributed to his Partner Sweat Equity hours on his home and other local projects. He is confident that in the future he will be able to do his own home repairs with the construction knowledge he has obtained with Habitat for Humanity El Paso.
